With an appealing ambience, comprising of wooden finished tables and chairs, Madras Diaries is a small yet cute outlet located on the ground floor of Muzaffar Manor, Linking road Bandra. With an artistic painting and beautiful sculptures adorned on the walls, Madras Diaries is available with both indoor as well as outdoor seating. However Indoor being air conditioned, seems less engaging than the outdoor, as the beautiful plants hanging all around with the artistic wooden chair attracts their patrons to relish in the authenticity of South Indian Cuisine.

Being addicted to coconut and coriander chutney, I actually didn’t feel the need of having them while enjoying this cute small deep fried jalapeños idlis. We also had jalapeño cheese dosa for a change. With exact amount of jalapeños and cheese this dish was worth having.

What’s your idea on shots? Well unlike the usual ones, this outlet serves the most unique kind of shots that are sour and spicy, and these are none other than their Rasam Shots served in tiny steel bowls. Moving on to the most exciting part of the South Indian meal, The South Indian thali. Comprising of idilis, wadas, Sambar, Rasam, Rice, Malabari Parotta, curd and the dessert of the day, this thali is way more amusing than it looked and humongous enough to surpass your appetite.

The staff here were really cooperative and patient in briefing us on their best dishes. We had an extraordinary meal which was a delight to our palate.
